Not just another shady bar-Schumania

I have been away from quite some time. I thought about various reasons for my hiatus , but honestly the only reason was laziness. I am back now, after a few months and a few extra kilos.
It took some awesome food to bring me back to writing. Schumania- a local restaurant bar at IC colony, Borvali. Imagine a fine dining place, where a persons greets you with a welcome drink on your arrival. Then you are escorted to your table, you then take the napkin and put it on you lap. The waiter comes and explains you the menu and suggests a 1947 Cheval Blanc wine!! Well, now imagine exactly opposite of this, welcome to Schumania.
Its just another bar but with some extraordinary food. It has got an AC and non AC sections. And is one of the few places where you can smoke in AC section. That's not the point. The bar is located in IC Colony, so there are chances that the group sitting next to you will be chatting in English. So free gyan that too in English!
The booze is cheap, 150 for a bottles of KF and 200 for Bud. The food my friends, is killer! I have never tried veg food but for a meat lover its a treat. Some of the dishes that I tried include Kheema masala, Bheja fry and masala, Chicken boti dry, mutton seekh kabab, kheema ghotala etc. Every freaking dish is so damn awesome that after the first bite you feel like kissing
chef's hands. The place doesn't have tandoor. So all the dishes are server with bread. The meat is grilled on charcoal so it gives you the rusty charcoal flavor.
Overall, its a place where you can catch up with friends over a few beers accompanied by some great food and some free philosophy.

To summarize
Place      :7/10      Not so great ambiance. Smoking allowed in AC section, so you don't need to get up        from you table.
Quality   :8.5/10    I have already said enough.
Service   :7.0/10    Nothing particular about service. Just like any other restaurant. I had to give an extra point because the waiter did give free unlimited water, ice and lime to our non-drinking friend.
Price       :9/10    A meal for two can cost around Rs.200. Each dish I mentioned above costs around 90-100 Rs.

Champagne bubles at Mocha...

Just like every other Saturday ,I was hanging out at my friend's place discussing the Goa trip plan.A new year in Goa , that's like a dream come true for a guy like me . It was 7 pm and our discussion had almost reached a conclusion as we could not find any hotel room vacant. Then I got an sms from a friend saying "Mocha,Juhu at 8" ,just another example of how lazy people are! So my destiny for the night was "sms"ed .
I reached Zuhu at 8.15 parked outside Mocha and went to Zuhu beach to eat pav bhaji  :P . The pav bhaji was ok not that good, a 6/10 may be .Do not eat burger from any pav bhaji stall. Then we saw him making Tava Pulav which  looked nice so we ordered a Cheese Tava Pulav. It was served with a Raita , Papad and a salad and it tasted good .Food for a good value I'll say. Then came the Ice Gola . I saw some innovative ice golas there like Chocolate Chips Gola, Butter Scotch Gola etc.I ordered a Chocolate Malai  gola .It tasted awesome.Dipped in cream , chocolate syrup and decorated with chocolate chips and grated chocolate.A gola worth 45 Rs.
Now lets talk about Mocha. The ambience of the place was like just any other Mocha. The place was crowded and the crowd was good so I didn't mind waiting for a table. We got a table in 5 mins, and for about half n hour we were just talking and nobody came to take the order , exactly what the tagline of Mocha says , "Coffee and Conversations".
A glimpse of Mocha
Then we ordered a Hookah , nothing ordinary ,a Champagne Sheesha(Hookah) with a strawberry flavor.I was the lucky one to try the first drag. It tasted exactly like a champagne. It tasted bitter ,which was a good sign as it showed that the champagne was dry.The only thing that i didn't like was the absence of strawberry flavor , none of us could taste it.They also serve beer and wine.

A small summery:
Place      :7.5/10    Nice ambience , nice crowd .Blood sucking mosquitoes.
Quality   :8.0/10    I only had a hookah but the food looked delicious.
Service   :6.0/10    Had to ask for several times to clean the table.
Price       :7.5/10    A meal for two can cost around Rs.400.Sheeshas starting fromRs.250.The Champagne Sheesha costed us Rs.440.

The Begining...

Hi ,
As many of us wants to write a blog but we get stuck at quite an important phase of it viz deciding the topic. For people like me it is sometimes difficult to express our feelings in words. And with a limited set of vocabulary the task becomes tougher.
Like any other Saturday night, I and my friends went to a place called 72 Degree North .And while coming back to my friend's place I realised , "Damn ! I spend a lot on food and drinks ". At the same time another thought popped up in my mind, and i realised that I can actually write about the places i go on weekends[or sometimes on weekdays].
So, here I am , with a desire to write a blog and a subject too.Every week i ll write about a different place. And as I am jobless I wont be visiting costly places .Rather places which will fit in my pocket and fill my stomach.
      Cheers.
